Féile Na nGael 2017

What a wonderful weekend of hurling we were treated to over the last few days. 5 games of hurling in sweltering conditions linked up with evenings of bowling and craic made Féile Na nGael 2017 one to remember. Hosted by the Ballyhogue Club in Bree Co. Wexford we were made feel at home over the three days and our sincere thanks to all at the Ballyhogue GAA Club for their hospitality over the three days, our lads spoke highly of their host families and the welcome they were shown. A draw and two losses in the group stages was still good enough to see us through to a shield quarter final in which we bet Éire Óg of Tyrone to qualify for the Shield Semi Final which took place in sweltering  conditions on Sunday morning last. Despite being 5 points down at the break the character and spirit of this team shone through as they fought back to level the game but an unfortunate goal for our Longford opposition ultimately sealed their victory. Immediate devastation and disappointment was evident but these players have given us a fantastic weekend of entertainment in which we will long remember. On behalf of the Moyne Templetuohy Juvenile Club we would like to thank firstly Tom Hassett, Tom Guilfoyle and John Coughlan who managed this team, to the parents who travelled over the last few day our thanks to you. To Johnny Gleeson who helped co-ordinate the weekend on the ground in Wexford and finally to the Ballyhogue GAA Club who were fantastic hosts and we look forward to meeting you again soon
