Club Notes 17/12/18

Intermediate Football: The final game of the 2018 Club Championship took place on Sunday afternoon last where we succumbed to a Loughmore Castleiney in the Mid Intermediate Football Final. Played in cold, wintery conditions Loughmore started the brighter but as the game wen ton we grew more into the encounter. The crucial turning point in the game came early in the second half when a Conor Bowe effort was saved by the Loughmore goalie, who quickly counter-attacked. The Loughmore attacker was subsequently fouled in the area, penalty awarded, with it being dispatched to the bottom corner. Our thanks must go to the players and management team for their effort since their first training session on January 14th.

Presentation/Quiz Night: Our annual Quiz night will take place on December 29th at 10pm in Everards Pub. Our resident quizmaster Jim O’Meara will be in charge with table of 4 €40. Also, on the night medals will be presented to our winning Intermediate Footballers, Junior Footballers and Mid U21 Hurlers along with senior and young player of the year and club person of the year. It promises to be a great night with your support greatly appreciated.

We are urging all families to please purchase these tickets. They are a cost of €10 with some terrific prizes for the winners. More details to be found on the club website.
