Club Notes 30/09/19

Junior Ladies: Pride of place this week goes to our Junior Ladies who captured their first Junior B County title on Saturday last and their first County title since 2006. They girls gave an excellent display of football in testing conditions to run out 1-15 to 3-04 winners over Holycross Rapparees. Well done girls the entire parish is thrilled for you! Senior Football: Our Senior Footballers suffered an 0-11 to 0-04 loss to Killenaule in phase one of the Senior Relegation. This loss now puts us into the Relegation Semi Final. Details of this will be known during the week.

Intermediate Hurling: All roads lead to Borrisoleigh this Saturday where we face Sean Treacy’s in the Preliminary Quarter Finals of the County Championship. This is now knockout hurling and your support is appreciated now more than ever. The game throws in at 4pm and updates will be available on the usual social media platforms.

Mid Junior Football Winners

Junior Football: Our Junior Footballers continued their run of good form claiming the Jim and Anne Kennedy Mid Junior B title on Friday evening last. Our lads showed good grit and determination despite being down to 14 men to run out 1-09 to 0-02 winners. Well done lads! Match report available here

U16: Hard luck to our U16’s who suffered a 2-15 to 0-04 defeat at the hands of Ballylooby in the U16 league on Saturday last. They face Lattin/Aherlow this Saturday in Templetuohy at 12noon.

U15: Our U15’s take on Boherlahan Dualla this Monday evening at 7pm in Templetuohy. All support appreciated.

U13: Our U13’s lost to Drom/Inch last Thursday evening. They now face Drom/Inch again in the Mid Semi Final this Thursday in Templetuohy at 6.30pm. Your support is appreciated.

U11: Commiserations to our U11 Group 2 Hurlers who were defeated in the Mid u11 Final last Saturday. They overcame Gortnahoe Glengoole in a titanic battle last Tuesday evening but succumbed to Upperchurch in the final. Our Group 4 team were beaten at the Semi Final stage last Monday evening at the hands of Boherlahan. Hard luck to both teams!

Stewarding: Once again our thanks to all those who help steward on both Saturday and Sunday last weekend. We have another game in the field this coming Sunday at 1.30pm where Moycarkey Borris face Killenaule in Senior Hurling relegation. Stewards are asked to be place by 12.15.

Monthly meeting: At our recent monthly meeting sympathies were expressed to the families of Mary Dunne, Paddy Moore, Antoinette Cullen, Mary Cleary and Nancy Tierney. May they all rest in peace.
