Moyne Templetuohy Senior Club held its AGM on Friday November 29th in Moyne Hall.
Chairman Willie Fogarty presided over the meeting and welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Club secretary Tom Hassett presented his report to the meeting, with an extremely detailed account of the years events. The opening page of his report showed our three All Ireland winning medalists a great source of pride for the parish for 2019. Tom was complimented for his detailed report and he thanked all those at the top table and indeed throughout the club for their support during the year.
Treasurer Hugh Coghlan then presented his accounts for 2019. It was noted of the huge sums of money that pass through the hands of the club on a yearly basis. Hugh was complimented on his report and he thanked both Marie and Teresa for their work in compiling the accounts throughout the year.
Chairman Willie Fogarty than addressed the meeting. He began by complimenting the club on returning three titles to the club throughout the year and our first Intermediate in 15 years. He noted his disappointment on the County Quarter Final defeat but acknowledged that the best team won. He thanked the players and management for their efforts in 2019. The chairman said he was extremely proud to have three All Ireland medals return to the parish in 2019. He noted it was 42 years since 3 All Ireland medals came back to the parish. He congratulated Roisin and Muireann on their All Ireland victory and the Ladies Football Club on their wonderful achievements this year. He thanked the Juvenile Club for all their work in the promotion of GAA in the parish. Willie acknowledged Catherine Dunne as stepped down as Mid Juvenile Secretary and wished her well in her future role as the Senior Board secretary. Willie concluded his speech by saying that this would be his final year as Chairman should he be reelected and that change is only positive. He thanked everyone for their attendance and wished them all well for 2020.
President of the club Fr Murphy then addressed the meeting. He acknowledged the wonderful facilities that the club has and the real sense of community spirit it fosters. He wished everyone well for 2020. Fr O’Dwyer then spoke and acknowledged the success of the club for 2019. He congratulated the All Ireland Medal winners and that the club is not far of a County Intermediate title. He finished with an old Irish saying ‘Ní neart go cur le cheile’ and wished all well for 2020.
