Pride of place in our weekly update this week goes to our u13’s who were victorious in the Billy Quinn Tournament Cup Final today.
Juveniles: A great weekend for our U13’s. They started off the weekend with a good win V Killenaule in the semi-final on Friday. They then had a quick turn around to take on Emly in Kickham Park, Thurles on Sunday. They gave an exhibition of football on the pitch, and joint captains Jamie Blake and Jack Guilfoyle lifted the Billy Quinn Cup on behalf of their teammates. Congratulations to all involved. It was a great end to a long season. We would like to say a huge thanks to Paddy and Martina Blake for generously sponsoring the food from The Temple Bar afterwards. Thanks also to Thurles Gaels for organising the tournament. Our U17‘s had two good wins v Upperchurch Drombane and Holycross Ballycahill this week. They now face JK Brackens next Sunday at 12pm in Templemore.
Lotto-Our lotto jackpot rolls over to €10,600 next week-our lucky dip winners were Claire Maher, Paul Maher-online, Tina O'Shea-bingo, Pat O'Connor-sold by John Sweeney.
Ladies football- Hard luck to our U19s in their county semi final today. They had a super game and gave it their all so can be very proud of themselves. Unfortunately Galtee Rovers got a late goal and came out on top on a score line of 2-11 to 3-7. Thanks to the girls for their effort in training over the last couple of months and to their management team Sally Dunne, Marie Bourke, Rosie Cleere, Odhran Lloyd, Johnny Gleeson, Mary Doherty and Paula Butler.
New Year’s Raffle: Tickets for this draw are now being distributed to club members. The Juvenile, Ladies Football and Camogie clubs have joined together to have a New Years Raffle. All funds will be shared equally across each club to support player development, equipment, and coaching initiatives into 2024. Tickets cost €10 will be distributed to club members next week. Additional tickets will be available to purchase in Guilfoyle’s, Tigh Maighne and pubs in both villages.
