Camogie: Our U16’s finally commenced their championship this week with two away games. Unfortunately the first game Vs Ballina saw the girls put in a great second half effort but lost by two points. They played Portroe on Friday evening and gave 100%, had a great match and came away with the win. They have now reached the quarter final which will be played Wednesday evening away to Lorrha at 18:45.
U11’s started their development games away to Moneygall with a strong win. They play Cashel this Thursday in Moyne at 18:30.
U8’s hosted a Cluster Blitz today and welcomed Borrisoleigh and Knockavilla.
Juniors play tomorrow evening in Templetuohy at 19:30 in Round 2 of Championship Vs Slieve Felim. Best of Luck.
Juveniles: Our U5’s and U’7’s had a busy week, competing in a challenge against Galmoy GAA on Wednesday evening and a blitz in Gortnahoe on Saturday morning for the Gortnahoe-Glengoole GAA Hurling Festival. Well done to all the boys and girls, who did the club proud on both occasions.
The U11’s also competed in Gortnahoe on Saturday morning playing Thurles Gaels GAA, Drangan GAA and Gortnahoe-Glengoole GAA. They showed great skill in all their games and everyone really enjoyed the fabulous hurling and the sunshine too!
Our U15 team had a very competitive Mid Hurling Championship game against Holycross-Ballycahill GAA. Overall they put in a great performance and were unlucky to lose out in the end by 4 points.
U17’s will play Moycarkey Borris GAA in the Mid Hurling semi-final tomorrow evening in Gortnahoe. All support would be much appreciated.
Ladies football: The last sessions for u6 takes place at 6.30pm tomorrow. Many thanks to Paula, Caitlin, Ciara and Áine who helped during the year, and tothe players who always showed up eager to learn and the parents for their support.
U14s play Galtee Rovers on Saturday next in Moyne at 6pm, best of luck girls.
U16s suffered a two point defeat to Killenaule in a closely contested Semi Final on Sunday, our thanks to Bill, PJ, Ger, Aoife and Roisin for their guidance all year and hard luck to the girls who gave it their all.
Both Junior teams will play their last round robin championship games next week, fixtures will be posted on Clubzap. The Juniors enjoyed delicious treats after Sunday morning training from Aoife Fogarty, Bean Around. Our thanks to Aoife and Gary for the treats and coffees and to Mary for organising.
