The first silverware of the year was won by our u16 ladies football team yesterday evening in the Plate final against Sliabh na mBan. This was the completion of last years competition which was never finished out.
The team were missing just one player on the night, Leona Maher, who is taking part in the All-Ireland athletics this weekend-we wish her our best too. The girls have been training hard since the return to the fields was allowed and they got their just rewards last night.
The villages of Moyne and Templetuohy were filled with car horns and cheers at around 10pm last night and it was a fantastic sight! Only 5 of this winning team are overage for this years competition which is both a testament to the feat they accomplished last night as well as a signpost to what the future holds for this talented bunch.
