Club Notes 18-12-17

County Convention: Sunday last was a historic day for the Moyne Templetuohy Club and the Kennedy family. Joe Kennedy following a tight vote (114-111) was elected County Vice Chairman for the coming three years. Joe who recently stepped down as Mid Senior Board Chairman now takes over responsibility of the County CCC along with fellow Moyne Templetuohy man Tom Maher. On behalf of the club we would like to wish Joe all the best in his new position.

Adjourned AGM: Moyne Templetuohy Senior Club held its Adjourned AGM on Friday evening last in Templetuohy Community Centre. Our thanks to all those who attended, as many important decisions were taken for the coming year. We wish all appointed managers, coaches and selectors all the best in their positions. Full list of appointments will be available on club website once all positions have been ratified.

Juvenile Presentation Night: Moyne Community Centre was the venue for this year’s annual presentation evening for our Juveniles. Tipperary hurlers and proud clubmen Thossie Hamill and Paul Maher were on hand to present our medals. Well done to all our winners, they are as follows: U12 Group 2 Player of the Year: Cathal Guilfoyle, Most Improved: Diarmuid Campion. U12 Group 4 Player of the Year: Bill Brolan, Most Improved: Stephen Shaw. U14 Player of the Year: Gavin Ryan, Most Improved: Jimmy Gleeson. U16 Player of the Year: Shane Lowe, Most Improved: Paudie Gleeson. Well done to all. Pictures will be available on Club website in the coming days.

Annual Quiz Night: Moyne Templetuohy GAA Club will hold their Annual Table Quiz along with its Annual Presentation Night on Saturday night January 20th at 9.30pm in Everard’s Pub Templetuohy. A table of 4 is €40 and we ask all parishioner for their support. Following the quiz our Annual Presentation night where Club Person of the Year along with Player of the Year will be presented. All are very much welcome on the night.

Club Development: With over 170 books now distributed, sellers are currently going door to door raising funds for our Astro Turf. With tickets priced at €10 each and some fantastic prizes on offer (1st – Car), we are calling on all parishioners to buy at least one ticket. This project is being completed in conjunction with both the Senior Club, Juvenile Club and Ladies Football Club and will look to further develop our young kids. Unfortunately, due to the adverse weather conditions over the past week, the laying of the Astro Turf will now take place during the first week in January. Christmas Morning Mile: Moyne Athletic Club is once again holding its annual Christmas Morning Mile from 11am to 12.30pm. All proceeds this year are going to the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation. All support much appreciated.
