Scór 2017

Scór Sinsear:

Newport was the venue for this year’s Scór Sinsear County Final. Despite the low numbers a tremendous nights entertainment took place with Moyne Templetuohy being represented in two competitions. First up at 7.30 prior to the main event our quiz team of Jim O’Meara, Tom Collier, Joe Kennedy and Paddy Moran took the stage. Tie breakers were needed to separate Moyne Templetuohy and Loughmore Castleiney, with our lads coming out on top by the bare minimum. They then went on to represent their club and their county in the All Ireland Final where they finished an impressive 17th. A sincere thanks to Francis Cleere who kindly stepped in as Paddy Moran was unavailable to travel.

Mary Campion was next to the stage on County Final night in the Aithriseoireacht/Scealaíocht competition. Despite Mary’s fantastic effort she narrowly missed out on a County Medal. Our sincere thanks to Mary for her commitment to Scór this year.

Scór Na bPaistí:

This year once again we had representation in all competitions for Scór Na bPaistí. The 19th February in Moyne was our first outing for all our acts in the Mid Semi Final. A fantastic days entertainment ensued with all acts with exception of our Quiz team qualifying for the Mid Final. Holycross was the venue for the Mid Final with all our acts putting in a tremedous perfomrance on the night. Our Novelty act group qualified for the County Final where they were eventually crowned County Champions. A sincere thanks to all those who took part in Scór Na bPaistí this year. To Francis Cleere and Anne Marie Maher we thank them very much for all the work they put into Scór each year.

Scór Na nÓg:

Earlier on the year our Scór Na nÓg acts took to the stage. We had representation in Novelty Act, Ballad Group. Solo Song and Recitation. Marie Kennedy and Niamh Dunne gave fantastic performances but were narrowly beaten on the night. Our Ballad, Novelty and Quiz happily qualified for the County Final. A night of fantastic entertainment ensued with a very high standard seen in all competitions. Hard luck to all our acts and we thank them for all the work they have put in to Scór this year. Our thanks also to their coaches who coached them.
